How to activate Secure Exchanges for Keepass
Discover how to activate Secure Exchanges for Keepass.
You are already activated with Microsoft Outlook
All you need to do is download Keepass and the Secure Exchanges add-on. You will be automatically activated.
You have not yet initialized a license with the Microsoft Outlook client.
You can get a 30-day trial version compatible with Microsoft Outlook to secure your exchanges. At the end of your trial period, if you wish to use Keepass only, you can purchase a license for only $0.99 CAD / month.
Steps
- Get a license by buying it or activating a trial version. For help on purchasing a license, please consult our help document.
- Download the Secure Exchanges add-on for Keepass and drop unzip the dlls into the folder where your keepass is installed. By default it will be in c:\Program Files (x86)\KeePass Password Safe 2\Plugins\
- After activating your license, log in to the Secure Exchanges site and retrieve your api keys. Click on "login" fill in the information in the login form, you will then receive an email to login.
- In the "my account" tab, at the very bottom of the page, you will find "Click on the key to receive your API identifier." A code will be written in the page, copy this code.
- You will then receive an email secured by Secure Exchanges, paste the code previously copied to open it.
- Here you will find your serial number, copy and paste the information into the Secure Exchanges add-on settings window in Keepass
Send a password to someone
To send an email to someone completely securely, right-click on your password and press "send with secure".
Your recipient will then receive an email with the information. If you put a password in the email, he will have to enter it to open the message.
